I finally got to experience the magic that is the Coventry, CT Farmer’s Market at the Nathan Hale Homestead. This is not your average farmer’s market; along with local produce, there are crafts, local food trucks, and various food vendors. There is a little bit of something for everyone, plus plenty of farmer’s to stock up your fridge for the week.
There are also different demonstrations that go along with the weekend’s theme. The Sunday we went was “Italian Style,” and we not only got to watch handmade mozzarella being made but we got to taste it. Served with a big slice of a heirloom tomato – most delicious summer snack! It was simply amazing.
We also had handmade apple cider donuts from Faddy’s, Goji Berry Raspberry Iced Tea from Whole Harmony, amazing smoothies from Raw You-niverse, and of course a pulled pork sandwich from Bear’s BBQ (Rob’s favorite!)
This was on my summer wish list and I am so glad we checked it out. I think we will make a couple more trips before the season is over.
Until next time!
